Journalism....hardly

Rate this Entry
I came across this article in the Madison Capitol Times. This is an article on the Tea Party Express being in Madison tonight. The part of the article which infuriates me is the part below:

Joe the Plumber, aka Sam Wurzelbacher, will be the chief rally rouser in Madison, and also will lead the tea baggers in Milwaukee and Green Bay on Wednesday.

The Cap Times calls themselves 'Your Progressive Voice', so I get the bent towards liberalism in the editorial section. However, when it calls a group of people tea baggers in the name of supposed "journalism", it removes itself from the category of reliable source. It becomes a newsletter for the DNC.

It is this cavalier, dismissive attitude which offends so many, yet invisibly intoxicate some on the Left.

It is Primary day here in the Badger State. Should be an interesting day.

thought i would share this nugget....
seems the Cap times has changed the wording of their article. They removed Tea baggers and went with Tea partiers.

Response from the Cap Times is below from an email from me asking why.

We changed the term to the correct usage. Our reporter thought "tea baggers" was a synonym for "tea partiers."

i thought joe the plumber divorced himself from certain conservatives because he thought he had been used during the presidential election.

back to your point, was the use of tea bagger made in a news story or was it on the editorial page? big difference. a news story is suppose to report what happened and represent all sides of the story. an editorial can be slanted to any political point of view because it is an opinion.
