I have made my dream solution for health care pretty clear:

1. Competition across state lines.
2. Private insurance coverage for the first 50k-100k spent.
3. Catastrophic coverage for all provided by the federal government.

This solution will bring the cost of private insurance WAAAY down since insurers will only be on the hook for 50k-100k as opposed to 1 million. Younger people could buy inexpensive, high deductible plans for very cheap.
