Just going to rant about the state of Politics here in Connecticut...

We got a big race here in Connecticut to fill Chris Dodds Senate seat, you have our current Attorney General Dick Blumenthol running against former WWE CEO Linda McMahon.

I HATE Dick Blumenthol... and his has nothing to do with Democrat -vs- Republican... the guy has done such harm to this state with his frivolus lawsuits. In the computer and communications industry he has driven jobs and technology out of Connecticut due to his actions. This guy does not help the citizens he only takes on things which can get him ont he news. I know many people who have written and talked to him (myself included) and didn't get a reply to their letter or when you talked to him he said it wasn't worth fighting for. (ie he wouldn't get enough press)

I Like Linda McMahon, as I use to work for her many years ago. She was always a stern, fair, strict get the job done type of person. When she has something to do she does it.

Anyways I decided to show my support for Linda and got a Linda sign for my lawn. My house is down the street from the school where people vote. So I proudly planted my sign on my front lawn, the next morning I go to work and come home to find my sign missing.. In fact I notice that neighbors who had Linda signs also have theirs missing as well.

So I talk to a friend who is a police officer and tell him what happened and he tells me that the police department is hearing there is some guy paying kids to go and take the signs. I say maybe I should go take down the Blumenthol signs I am seeing and he advises me I shouldn't because if I am caught I could get arrested... so now I am agrivated that I can't show my political views on my own property.

Now another thing that has me angry is that the secretary of state (who is a Democrat) has ruled that anyone showing up on election day wearing any kind of WWE clothing will be turned away to vote and will be told to go home, change and come back. Linda McMahon is no longer with the WWE and this kind of ban on what a person wears to vote just seems crazy to me.

It seems like they are trying to do whatever they can this year from keeping people from voting for her. It just seems unfair to me.

Again its not a Democrat -vs- Republican thing for me, in fact this year most of my votes will be going to Democrats. (Governor, Treasure and local city offices.) I just do not like Blumenthol!

This year has opened my eyes on how corrupt the entire process is, and it makes me angry.

I dont think I have ever seen anything like this before...

Thanks for letting me rant.

Sadly this goes on in many states Scott.
I remember a year or so ago a guy was having his signs vandalized or stolen by some kids so he hooked a current up to it to give the vandal a shock. And he got arrested while, if I recall, nothing happened to the kid.

This is why I'd never got signs. Who I support is my business, and if you are influenced by a yard sign, you are way too easily swayed. Just a waste of paper/plastic and steel.

Could always be a kid stealing signs to "sign" people. In high school, kids did that all the time. Collect political signs, then stick hundreds in someones yard in the middle of the night.

So, you used to work for Linda McMahon? There a professional wrestling past we don't know about?

So, you used to work for Linda McMahon? There a professional wrestling past we don't know about? Yup I use to tape the "Event Centers" that they use to do in the late 80's Early 90's.

It started as a fun job but got boring real quick...

You would have someone like the Macho Man come in and say the same thing 30 times for each city he was going to be appearing in, just changing it up to change the town name.

A lot of retakes... and it was especially fun if they came in to do their promos if they have been drinking. :D

Rare that I agree with Scott now-a-days but as a fellow Connecticut-ite and businessman in this State it never ceases to amaze me how this state likes to shot its self in the head. Bloomanthal is absolutly the most anti-business Attorney General, no politician ever in my memory has been worse, even far worse the Governor Wyker. Like Scott says, his frivolous and often merit-less law suits of persecution of small and big businesses in this state for the last 20 years to make a name for himself with the welfare voting class in this state as their champion has driven this state into a desert of business.

Our population stays about the same because as business and employees leave this state in droves the welfare class moves in just as fast.
I for years kept trying to figure how to rent a broom closet in Agawam Mass just over the border to put a business phone into to move my "official" operations out of state to get away from some of the bullshit we have to put up with as businessmen..

Governor Jody Rell, a Republican (in name) is not much better. Now I see that Bloomanthal is poling over 50%. I don't get it. What the hell, the bullet to the head wasn't big enough before??
I had hoped at least the welfare class, the WWE constituency would voted for Linda.

I have her yard sign. Matter of fact its the only sign in my yard. I did a little local volunteer work too. My street is off the beaten path and only mostly residents use it but most on my street are Conservatives like me. Most fly flags and a couple even have "don't tread on me" flags subordinate.. Liberals that visit me throw mud on their Obama bumper stickers in fear before coming over. :gueller:

You can not go to vote wearing advertisements for the person you are voting for. It happens anytime a celebrity runs for any kind of office. That is nothing new.

Of course they are, this was nothing but a politically motivated action. And they knew the courts would nail them on it, especially if someone got turned away from the polls by an overzealot poll worker.
