Barack Obama's classic movie gift to Prime Minister during visit to White House

BARACK OBAMA gave Gordon Brown a set of 25 classic American films on DVD as his official gift, it was revealed yesterday.

The "special collector's box" was presented to the Prime Minister during his two-day trip to Washington DC.

Brown gave Obama a penholder carved from the oak timbers of HMS Gannet, a Victorian ship which spearheaded the Royal Navy's fight against slave trading.

He also gave the president a first-edition set of the seven-volume biography of Sir Winston Churchill by Sir Martin Gilbert.

No, the first step in that is cutting out all of the BS pork in the bills. When that is done MAYBE he can afford to give the head of state of our BIGGEST ally (in their first official meeting as leaders) something that did not come off of the half price rack at Dollar General.

At least he did not let Hillary pick it out, then the language would not have even been correct:rolleyes:

The DVD's he gave were Region 1 NTSC. The UK is Region 2 PAL.

Alas, when the PM settled down to begin watching them the other night, he found there was a problem.

The films only worked in DVD players made in North America and the words "wrong region" came up on his screen.
