Have they gone too far? Is this really what we pay them to do?

I agree that the government has no reason to get into college football.

Lots of things but the frickin BCS.
I am trying to see where they can justify even looking at this. I dont see it.
And I am one that REALLY wants a playoff of some sort. A plus one would be great. Top four would solve MOST debates every year.

It seems like the government is screwing up every single aspect of life in this country.

I don't care who does it, Congress or someone else, but we need a playoff system!! The BCS is ultimately decided by a computer algorithm and a handful of coaches, both have proven to unfairly represent Cinderella teams.
I do agree that Congress has more important things to do though...

Personally I'd rather Congress be looking at the BCS, instead of passing more laws to screw things up. ;)

If only we had enough sports to keep these idiots busy. Maybe some red rover investigations for elementary schools next.

I agree with this 100%
They should get enough to cover the basics on living in DC or cover travel from their home to there. Then a salary, not too outrageous. That is it. Two terms max

Instead, make the state legislatures responsible for paying for that state's congressmen & senators.

Very good idea. That way they can't all get together washington and vote themselves a raise.

If I remember correctly, they don't vote themselves yearly raises anymore. The people complained too much so they made a cost of living adjustment automatic.
