CBS news tonight.
Predictions of this sort of storms is in the al gore info.
basically warmer air holds more moisture and can produce heavier snow.
I will laugh at the naysayers this summer if temps skyrocket to a nice toasty 120 degrees all up and down the east coast...

A 120 degree summer or a more than active hurricane season no more supports global warming than a snowstorm in the FL panhandle disproves global warming. Anecdotal observation is in no way evidence for or against climate change. Millions of years of climate change influenced by space, the sun, seismic activity, volcanism, plate tectonics, ocean currents, and ex, in when the earth went through periods of toxic and hot atmospheres, warm and humid global climate, complete freezing, warm and dry periods, and several ice ages, all before man was even a factor, says more about our changing climate than anything man has done or can do. If the east coast does hit 120 degrees, WHICH IT WONT, for the first time in recorded history, this does not necessarily mean that it was caused by man made global warming.
Correct hypotheses in this area will only able to be theorized after extensive time has passed, in which trends can easily be measured, and clear evidence of man's impact vs the thousands of other natural impacts are fully measured.

That info also predicted even more active hurricane seasons after the year of Katrina, and every year had been a bust since.
Al threw out a bunch of predictions hoping some would stick and get him more money.
Al Gore had next to no qualifications in making climate predictions.
He got a journalism degree at Harvard and then flunked out of Vanderbilt Divinity, and yet that makes him the climate guru?

I drives me crazy when people use anecdotal evidence to (dis)prove Global Warming. It's crazy.
The mid-Atlantic/NE snow is a product of a strong el nino more than anything else.

yeah but if its true...... it will likely be too late to do anything.
kinda like finding a lump on your body and self diagnosing it cant be cancer, then waiting a couple years till its grown and spread, too late to do anything:(

bob,
sometimes DC gets snowy winters and somtimes they get next to nothing.

You can't make any kind of determination (either way) on global warming because your tiny section of the globe got heavy snow for a few weeks. Meteorologists - - - scientists that only concern themselves with day-to-day weather - - - will tell you why the NE has been getting hammered, and it has nothing to do with carbon emissions.

My point is globval warming might be causing the current snow disaster,.
Warmer air does hold more moisture, now thats a fact.......
Everyone will get interested in global warming when the wall street rich are coming to work by boat and getting their 5 grand a pair shoes wet.
Heck even republicans will be willing to do something:)

Its sort of like Nostradamus. Its a crock. Wait long enough and you can extrapolate nearly everything back to his predictions.

yeah why worry be happy, till the higher sea level has wallstreet picking everyone pocket for another now far larger bailout:(

If I could make any sense out of that babble I would respond. But when you shake your head 3 times in three sentences its not really worth it.

Very true. We just do not have enough info yet.
Earth is 4.58 billion years old (4,580,000,000), roughly ;)
People are freaking out over data from 1900 and 1979 to now. Hmmm, thats about 0.00000218% of the earths total existence.
Do I think we should do more to lower our emissions and fossil fuel reliance? Yes. Are we doomed in 50 years? No.
I'd be more worried about getting killed by a nuke from Iran or a dirty bomb.
