Yes. If they are getting my money, they shouldn't use it for bonuses or junkets.

My biggest problem with this is they are trying to do it retroactively. If it is in writing before a deal for government money is made, I do not have as big of a problem with it. The companies do not have to accept these bailouts, and in fact should not anyway IMO.

Exactly my thought. If you don't want the limit, run your company well and don't craw to the government for help.

Here the deal, its not "your" money. Once you paid your taxes, that money became the govt's money. By calling it "your" money, the govt increases their populace mob-rule to increase their power.

The government is not accountable to the people? The Founding Fathers would disagree.

The government has a responsibility to make sure it's money is spent in a responsible way. They have a long way yo go, but making sure they don't right big checks to cover executive salaries is a good start.

Whoa Whoa Whoa, backup....first off, the Founding Father would be disgusted with the fact that we have INCOME TAX. Income tax is unconstitutional and turns the citizen into a slave to the state. Secondly, the FF would NOT be bailing out these companies, these companies would have gone bankrupt last year had we respected our Constitution.

Founding Fathers meant for the Constitution to be amended. And it was. The 16th Amendment. While I agree they wouldn't be excited about the bailouts, I think they would be more disgusted at the corporate greed.

Aren't the bailouts the equivalent of corporate greed? There synonymous to me.
