btw, i read this a week or two ago, that the SAG board finally agreed on a new contract, almost a year after the old one expired.
you may recall, SAG initially turned down a deal similar to the one offered the writers, thinking they could get a better deal. they never did. the strike vote never materialized and it was much ado about nothing.
while, most of SAG members are minimal scale actors working from check to check, to think that many millionaires wanted more money in this economy is sickening.
i'll never understand why some group of people think they have a skill that entitiles them to millions while most americans struggle!

this might be slightly off topic but i wonder how this would help the economy. tell all professional athletes, politicians and actors to give up their multi million dollar contracts. i'm thinking of the potential immediate pool of money this country would have!

The money would just stay in the hands of the studios/owners.....

Politicians, I can agree with, they work for us.
However I do not see how we can tell actors and athletes to give up money that they have worked to get just like the rest of us. Don't get me wrong, I think many of them are overpaid, but that is what the market is willing to pay apparently, and I do not think we should try to force that change. If and when the owners and companies cant pay it, they wont.

I agree. The only reason actors and athletes (the "talent") are making millions is because the owner and studios are making 100s of millions.

And that is because WE pay the money to enjoy the shows that they put on. Want their pay to go down? Quit watching.

I have nothing against anyone who can make as much as they can, hell if I could make millions I would, I would like to make what the lowest payed employee at GM makes.
It's the Yankees of the world who makes the prices outrageous.
