I wonder if a chemical could disable not just the passengers but the crew too?
I giess the airforce would be forced to shoot down a airliner if no one responds?
end of air travel as we know it today

end of air travel as we know it today[/QUOTE Unfortunately in todays world, such a chemical probably exists. I agree to that they would be forced to shoot down an airliner if no one responds, I would certainly hate to be the one with that decision to make. Air travel is getting more and more distasteful and in that sense the terroists are winning.

A police officer told me the flight 93 in shanksville on 9 11 was shot down by fighters. He knew someone who witnessed it personally.
Makes sense wasnt that a couple hours after the twin towers and pentagon hit?
Certinally enough time to scramble some fighters, after all by that time officials KNEW what was up:(
Now it wouldnt be good for business to admit it.....

I am a personal friend of that PO and his family for over 25 years.,
Obviously only those who witnessed it would know for sure.
But given the same situation TODAY a shoot down is certain.

Which is posts like this are often called BS bob, no offense. You claim to have inside information that you really cant prove, but say that only those that were there would know for sure, meaning we cant prove you are wrong.
It is a common message board argument that rarely is taken seriously.

Oh well I beleve my source plus it makes sense.
Do you REALLY believe that 2 hours after the WTC and pentagon attack the president couldnt get off a couple fighters to protect the obvious target his own home???
with plane headed toward DC???

I never said it wasnt possible. It has been a part of the consiracy theorists stories for a while now.
I just doubt it happened.

I REALLY believe that it was only 1:22 between the north WTC being hit and the crash in Shanksville. I also believe your uncle's wife's brother's cousin's son's daughter's husband's friend who is a police officer is full of doo-doo.
OTOH, one of the passengers may have been in direct contact with one of the F-16 pilots and told him to fire when the passengers attacked the hijackers. Since some of the passengers were on the phone and people on the other end could hear what was going on, it looked like the crash was the result of the fight and not a missile strike. All planning done as the events unfolded, of course. I bet it was part of some vast right-wing conspiracy.

with plane headed toward DC???I put a lot more credulity in...."The phone line from Flight 93 was still open when a GTE operator heard Todd Beamer say: 'Are you guys ready? Let's roll' " Than your uncles brothers friend.
Believe me when I say I know what those words mean.
The flight/plane was too far from any strategical target to warrant a shoot down without the fighters pilots or some control tower first making contact on the general com. frequency/channel with a warning. We would all have heard it. There was no eminent danger to national security or any "target" in the long vicinity other than a few feed silos.

Even if we had shot it down, it would have been the right decision, and the people would have supported it.
As it is, the c0ckpit recorders showed the passengers being heroes in fighting back.

Now if it HAD been a shoot down dont you think it might have hurt the airline business?
and you want to take out a airliner in a desolate rural area to minimze colatteral damage on the ground

No, because the end result of a hijacker and the military shooting the plane down is the same, especially since they would have the same cause.
and you want to take out a airliner in a desolate rural area to minimze colatteral damage on the groundYes, which is why I said the Bush administration wouldn't have gotten any extra heat from shooting it down, and therefore no reason to have a coverup.
Anyway, all evidence (including phone calls from the passengers) show that the crash was caused by the hijacker when the passengers stormed the c0ckpit.

Certinally any airliner destined to be used as a bomb must be shut down, but knowing this is one thing.........
having it really occur is another.
Fly the friendly skies of united, till highjckers take over and the air force shoots down the aircraft.
or worse a inattentive flight crew misses the airport, and the plane gets shot down in error...
shooting down a airliner even for a very valid reason will hurt the airline and travel and tourism industry dramatically..

Bob, saying this: Fly the friendly skies of united, till highjckers take over and the air force shoots down the aircraft.
Or this: Fly the friendly skies of united, till highjckers take over
Really makes no difference as far as I can see. Most likely the result is the same. If someone is going to stop flying I would think it would be for the cause (the hijacking), not the response
