Mcain won't endorse her until he sees who else runs? So what. I would not either. That is smart IMHO

Palin is a remnant of the crazy Christian conservative movement...While I respect a lot of her stances, she's just CRAZY with all the God stuff...

She is vocal about what she believes. I see no problem with that, even if I do not think she is the right person to lead the nation

I got no problem with her being vocal, I just don't want another person that "hears the voice of God" running our country. Separation of Church and State.

I agree with seperation of church and state, but it seems (and probably is not the case) that you want someone that is leading us to basically shut up about what they believe? Am I getting that right?

Religiously? Yes.

No, they can speak their mind. But we know from history and our last president, that religion can become a deciding factor in their policy. That kind of decision making doesn't make us safer. I got no problem with anyone voicing their opinions or beliefs. Freedom of speech should always trump.

its way too early for anyone to be endorsing anyone. Whoever posed the question is an idiot.

How else would they make their decisions though? If religion guides their beliefs would they not make decisions based on that because they thought it was right? The same as someone who did not have religion might make a different choice becuse they have a different outlook.

History proves that religious nuts glorify war in the name of God to no end.

Don't get me wrong, I got no problem with religion, I just have a problem with religion in the White House. No need for "moral" constraints when making the "right" decisions IMHO. Secondly, an atheist and devout religious fellow can have the same morals, but the religious fellow is prone to leaving chance up to faith which is disastrous.

I can agree that morals are not exclusive to religion. I just think that it would be hard to seperate ones beliefs from decision making in most cases is all.

Without a belief in God there are no laws and no morals IMO. The belief in God or their version of God shapes the laws of every country.

Which is exactly why she doesn't belong in the WH.

Really? There is still law and order in Europe where God has left the building.

Yeah, but that bothers me. If we say that about her, because of her faith and willingness to be vocal about it, where do we stop? Are all Christians, or people of any faith, banned from running for the pres.?

If you are in the government in Canada, you can't even mention god while working.

Not at all, I'm not debating that. Those are just my reasons why I think she would make a bad president. I think this country needs a break from Christian conservatism. Its not just war. Example: no stem cell research was based on a religious value, when at the end of the day we needed it to open doors to adult stem cells. That kind of policy making holds science back, we need science to move forward, not backwards because someone's church doesn't like it.

I would hardly have wanted to be subject to the Godless laws of the Soviet Union or China in the 70's. Without God you have countries with vast human rights violations. Name some countries where God doesnt exist and I'll name some I would never want to be a part of. Of course there was law in ancient Rome too but it was hardly a nice place to live as a peasant.

You're also living in a religious country right now called the USA and watching socialism creep up on you. Socialism will lead to the reduction of civil liberties if it goes full blown. It is already happening. So how does your statement mean anything. Tyranny is tyranny. If you believe an atheist president would turn this country into the Soviet Union or China, that's insane. We stand the same chance with a Christian leader.
