You would think that the MAYOR of the city would have been told....

i believe i read this afternoon that the mayor had prior knowledge but only a few minutes before it happened.

See, a few minutes does not make a difference. Not in a situation such as this, in THAT city. The mayor should have known well in advance, and the citizens too IMHO.
They should have used some common sense. What kind of response did they think they would get by flying a 747 a thousand feet or so above the city?

Good lord, this just keeps getting worse.

In a memo obtained by CBS 2 HD the Federal Aviation Administration's James Johnston said the agency was aware of "the possibility of public concern regarding DOD (Department of Defense) aircraft flying at low altitudes" in an around New York City. But they demanded total secrecy from the NYPD, the Secret Service, the FBI and even the mayor's office and threatened federal sanctions if the secret got out.
Good call James:rolleyes:
"To say that it should not be made public knowing that it might scare people it's just confounding," Sen. Charles Schumer said. "It's what gives Washington and government a bad name. It's sheer stupidity."
Well yeah....

Neal Boortz made a good point this morning about the fly over photo shoot.
"The Pentagon needs to learn how to use Photoshop"

No kidding. We have not even brought up the cost of this. Which from what I have heard is pretty high.
I wont say much about that. As I have said before, nothing new. They shoot photos, they sell them. If one did it, the next should get a pass on that.
