Fast food flavor enhancers / regulations? tax?

My great aunt commented about how great fast food tastes and makes you feel. A former Mc Donalds manager said thats the flavor enhancers, they help addict you so you eat more junk food.........

Should these sort of addictive substances be regulated in fast food since its contributing to the obesity epidemic??

I wouldnt think they would be allowed to.

Hell I take that back. Nicotine, caffine, ect.....

I do agree though sky. I dont THINK they are doing it. I would love a link to show it.

Add addictive chemicals? No, I wouldn't do that. The fat, sugar and salt are sufficient in getting customers to come back. I know that McD's uses chem. flavor agents, but I don't think for 1 second that they're chemically addictive in the way nicotine is.

Last time I checked, MSG isn't addictive. I have some in my kitchen right now. I use it for BBQ rubs and soups and it never leaves me craving more like nicotine does.
