wo days after announcing his plan to refocus the war in Afghanistan, Barack Obama makes his first Sunday talk show appearance as president on CBS's "Face the Nation."
The president leads a blockbuster lineup from his administration that also features Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
Other economic advisers have made the Sunday rounds in recent weeks. But this will be Geithner's first, with appearances on ABC's "This Week" and NBC's "Meet the Press."
He'll be ABC host George Stephanopoulos' sole headliner. But NBC's David Gregory also brings in Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) to counter the treasury secretary on the economy and discuss the administration's new strategy in Afghanistan.
Gates will lay out the strategy on "Fox News Sunday," which also has Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Heritage Foundation President Edwin Feulner.
On CNN, Obama's budget takes top billing on "State of the Union," as Senate and House budget committee chairmen - Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) and Rep. John Spratt (D-S.C.) - stop by, as well Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
C-SPAN's "Newsmakers" also focuses on the budget, bringing in the House Budget Committee's ranking Republican, Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, to take questions from The Hill's Walter Alarkon and POLITICO's Patrick O'Connor.
Finally on Bloomberg TV, Al Hunt also hosts Ryan, as well as and White House Budget Director Peter Orszag, on "Political Capital."
