Would you pay your part of the debt, estimated (just going off of the national debt) at $39,000+ per citizen, if it meant we could fix this mess? If it meant we could get these idiots out, and run this nation like it was meant in the begining? No more life long, career polititians?

If it were by choice? Because we pay anyway and there is no choice. The answer is HELL NO! They will just ring up the credit card all over AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! And I dont approve of what they spend the money on the first time anyway!!!!!

No, allow the country to declare bankruptcy and do a complete financial reset.

Fallout, that's possible IMO long term. What do you think the end result would be? We won't be the same as a nation for sure.

End result? Now that is the million dollar question....I think we would remain the same for the most part except all these entitlement programs that are destroying our nation would finally be ended. Britain is still around and mostly the same. Argentina went thru 5 years of hell but has rebounded. Japan is still standing even though they are in a 10 year plus depression.
Our main problem now is in March 2009, the world realized that Obama was a true socialist and capital has been flying out of the USA instead of into it.

Then let me rephrase, "Left of center" instead of "socialist". Also, how else do you explain the rebound in the dollar when he took office, then the steady decline once the stimulus was passed? And why is capital fleeing the US to other safe havens? It is all about confidence.

I have no idea. The only macroeconomic education I have I received 12 years ago in HS. I DO NOT think people are fearful of government takeover of all private industry.

I'm not talking about govt takeover of the private sector across the board. I agree, that is insane fascism. I'm referring to entitlement programs. He has been expanding them and seeks universal healthcare. The world is ready for us to raise interest rates and tighten monetary policy. But we are not, we are letting the dollar slide to hide inflation. This is causing investors to move out of dollars and into gold and foreign assets. The USA has always been the safe haven in treasuries, we are losing that quickly.

Thw world is awfully naive if they just figured out in March that this man was a rampant socialist. The world is as STUPID as the people that voted for this Marxist.

I normally respect what you have to say, but that is crazy talk. I don't recall in my time of 66 years studying history, at least 50 of them watching it up close and personal, have I ever heard any other president called a Socialist or a Marxist by so many well respected observers. I've heard it from Great economists to great political leaders and pundits alike now.. Not LBJ nor carter was ever, that I recall, seriously and intentionally called derisively a Commie/Socialist/Marxist or and derivation. The most telling and damning is when foreigners of socialist and communist expatriation call him a Socialist. Putin has even said it so I really think you may want to start paying attention and put down the Kool-aid, Sky..
If not and you allow this to go on..... All I ask is If you somehow keep your wits about you for another 40 years, think of me.

there are too many making big bucks on health care as is. these people are spreading garbage to derail change.........
meanwhile our economy is crashed...............
why? because we as a country are only consumers and produce nothing of value....... on a world class scale. worse we artificially increased our standard of living far beyond our means. spent a generation shipping our wealth overseas. first by buying crude, then by buying goods. thats why healthcare is such a major part of our economy, they havent figurered out yet how to ship it overseas..... but are trying overseas doctors read UPMCs X Rays from the comfort of their 3rd world nation
where is our future? with our current lobbyists bought and paid congress, full of career politcans.

If it meant we could get these idiots out, and run this nation like it was meant in the begining? No more life long, career polititians? I already did.... and then some. On average at least that amount monthly for years. I'll leave up to others imagination how much a Partnership with up to 100 employees and 80 trucks with a combined mileage of over 10 million miles a year over a span of 40 years paid as our part to only watch it peed down a rat hole called Washington DC. It would eclipse some small nation's GDP. That's not even including my personal successful real estate dabbles of adventure in about 60 or so pieces.
Now they want to War Tax me too.. *&@#$%& you...... I already gave enough blood, sweat, and money in the jungle war. Sell War Bonds for the Sand Wars and get your priorities straight. If we loss this one... all the health care insurance in the world ain't gonna mean spit in a few years. Just try to ask the 3000 dead at ground zero.
We have a "Show Boat" for a president like Neville Chamberlain, Benito Mussolini and Édouard Daladier all in one. Only rather than signing the Munich Dictate as those morons did, Obama the Show Boat will sign away US sovereignty to the UN Agenda 21 in Copenhagen at the Climate Summit to clinch the great hoax on us and send billions of US dollars a year to welfare countries to make them green.. The only greener they will be getting is from the color of our money..
History doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes.. Mark Twain.,.
Happy Thanksgiving.
