The people who exposed this: Jon Stewart of the Daily Show on Comedy Central,” Dunn said yesterday at the Bloomberg Washington Summit. “That’s where you are getting fact-checking and investigative journalism these days.”

What is even funnier is this quote:

Nov. 14 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama’s (http://search.bloomberg.com/search?q=Barack+Obama%3Fs&site=wnews&client=wnews&proxystylesheet=wnews&output=xml_no_dtd&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&filter=p&getfields=wnnis&sort=date:D:S:d1) outgoing communications director, Anita Dunn (http://search.bloomberg.com/search?q=Anita+Dunn&site=wnews&client=wnews&proxystylesheet=wnews&output=xml_no_dtd&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&filter=p&getfields=wnnis&sort=date:D:S:d1), renewed her attacks against Fox News as she praised the “investigative journalism” of Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart (http://search.bloomberg.com/search?q=Jon+Stewart&site=wnews&client=wnews&proxystylesheet=wnews&output=xml_no_dtd&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&filter=p&getfields=wnnis&sort=date:D:S:d1) and said MSNBC isn’t a biased cable news network.

MSNBC isn't a biased cable news network? They are the most biased of all of them. I guess it only shows that one only thinks of those they disagree with as being biased.

And the Daily Show rightly skewered her for that statement, something you saw nowhere else.

Lol, yeah that takes the cake. Call fox news biased, ok. Fine.
But to not hold MSNBC to the same standard, is laughable.

I don't watch the Daily Show on a regular basis, but I have seen Stewart call out MSNBC itself.....SKY!!?? Stewart is not the issue here. Its the blatant partisan hypocrisy of Dunn and this White House in regard to MSNBC NBC and General Electric amongst many other White House propaganda, financial, and policy operatives, both private and corporate . We know that Stewart occasionally throws out a bone for the Right just so he he has plausible deniabitly just like you and HDR used to threw out there to deflect his real politics..

She was sent out there as the expendable straw-man bad guy to continue Obama's war on anyone who disagrees with him from Joe the plumber to Fox.. It was known she was leaving and her husband was coming in as chief counsel.. She actually will still be involved with White House communication policy just as Van Jones Robert "Gibbs Friday morning would only say 'he continues to work in this administration.' "

It's troubling. As it was when when GWB occupied the WH and his administration was sending letters to NBC asking them to separate their "facts" from their "opinions."

Thank god we have fair and balanced CNN. :D

I personally think the government banning Fox, MSNBC, CNN, HLN, and so on would be great for this country. They have all decided they have to make up news to have things to report.

So we should do away with freedom of the press?

These guys are hardly the "press," but they should have the freedom of speech. :)

They can report the news, but just in one or two hour segments, and on the internet.

But I really think all the idiots who do nothing but watch 24 hr news all day are creating a lot of strife.

That's a fair request. You don't think? I watched MSNBC and NBC back then more [before they blatantly sold out to the Obama and actively, openly, and overtly campaigned for him] and saw that the "news" readers would throw in a snide comment or sneering facial expression or read the AP release as a pejorative with editorial emphasis. Their opinion shows where represented as Journalists, meaning reporters, with a disingenuous attempt to make it appear as a news show. I have a real problem with Shepard Smith on Fox about that too.. He not as militant but he can get his little personal shots in too. When I watch news I want it straight news without nuance. Bret Baier on Fox I like. He doesn't shade.

You're the one constantly railing against the state-run media yet you think the WH requesting a media outlet to edit their content is a "fair request?" OK..........

In my opinion, no administration (regardless of party) should meddle with the trolls at Fox, MSNBC, sweetness-light, breitbart, the dailykos, or the huffpo.

I actually like Shep. Probably one of the more fair guys on any of the networks IMO.

Separating the apples from the oranges so as not to blur the truth to maintain honest clarity is not a unreasonable request nor is it editing content. I agree that any meddling should be absolutly taboo verboten. This request did not carry threats or suggestions of repercussions. However I agree the fact that it comes from the WH is intimidating enough. Unfortunately the power of the press, especially if there is dishonesty or misdirection, can not flow in only one direction. I don't speak of checks and balance but I don't see some leaked judicious public whining as being over the line. After all, the press is the forth branch and needs to conduct its self better than those its charged to over see.
