More likely he found another offer that pays a lot more money.

NEW YORK (AP) - CNN's Lou Dobbs, a lightning rod for criticism following his transition from a business journalist to an opinionated anchor on such issues as illegal immigration, told viewers on Wednesday that he was quitting his nightly show to pursue new opportunities.

Interesting.

I thought there was a rumor he might run for the senate somewhere.

Either way, his show was the biggest opinion show on CNN. Maybe now all their shows can be straight news.

He was the last conservative voice left over there. There ratings will drop even more now that only left wing operatives are left.

Good riddance. I could never stand that blathering douch.

douche is spelled with an "e" and it is probably because you are a left wing one. I have always found him to stand on his beliefs. He criticizes republicans and dems. He was constantly bashing the bush administration. But when he started in of the Messiah, well CNN would have none of that.

Yep, at least Dobbs was always consistent with his ideology unlike quick edit jobs like Jon Stewart that sells soap to stoned college kids who consider it news after watching the latest episode of South Park.

Stewart is selling soap for CC just like Beck is with his antics on Fox.

I think Stewart is far more genuine than Beck. Also, Stewart thinks they are all idiots.

At least as bonafide as Fox News talking heads.

Have you seen some of his interviews with political figures? He asks much tougher questions than most journalists. That alone is enough to get him journalist credit.

Of all the times I ever tuned into Dobbs, all he talked about was building walls around the country, securing borders and rounding up the immigrants.

No matter what else was going on in the world, you could always count on Dobbs rehashing his same 'ol boring stance.... EVERY SINGLE DAY.

I don't rely on the person doing the interview or the person reading me the news. They are ALL actors, paid to sell soap. I focus in on the person being interviewed, that is person worth listening to. To swear some allegiance to a talking head is complete nonsense IMHO.

I find Rick Sanchez on CNN right now the left wing version of Dobbs. I can't believe CNN has the nerve to call this the "newsroom"

Certainly there is more than one story every day. Only on Dobbs was the top story immigration all day every day. Oh, I suppose the birthers occasionally lead.

You must be one of those cranky old people who like no sort of variety in life, go to the same restaurants to eat and order the same meal every time your day of the week rolls around (ie. Oatmeal on Tuesdays, Beef Stroganoff on Wednesdays, etc.) This is the type of person that can tolerate the boring drone, Lou Dobbs.

Well youve just proven you dont watch him. He rarely talks about our illegal president for more than 5 minutes if at all. There are always several current topics and reports from other reporters contributing that he comments on. This is the problem with ignorant left wingers like yourself. :augentreher:

I hate to break it to you but the daily show with John stewart is a comedy show. You highlight another problem with ignorant left wingers, short attention span with 5th graders with ADD. :augentreher:

CNN was so sick of Lou Dobbs, it gave him an $8 million severance package to leave, The Post has learned.

"They wanted him out," according to a source.

Dobbs, who a source said had a year and a half to go on his $12 million contract, shocked viewers last Wednesday by announcing he was quitting.

CNN boss Jonathan Klein and Dobbs, 64, had been publicly feuding over the kind of reporting Dobbs was doing on his show -- especially stories about illegal immigration and the anti-Obama "birther" movement, which contends the president was not born in Hawaii and is not an American citizen.
