About one in eight girls at Robeson High School are pregnant. Officials say a variety of factors are to blame.
It is a Chicago public school full of energy and spirit. It has about 800 girls, and 115 of them have something in common – something you might find disturbing.
CBS 2's Kristyn Hartman reports.
All those young ladies are moms or moms-to-be at Paul Robeson High School. It's not a school for young mothers, it's a neighborhood school. And all of the pregnancies have happened, despite prevention talk.

Good reason to support public funded abortions.

I did not advocate killing anyone.'
Unless you are one of those wackos that think terminating cell growth is killing someone.

How one can have children and still profess the line of thinking you do I will never understand.

Im not sure I get what your saying? Should me having children change my opinion on when I think life begins? I have children and was a child which is exactly why I feel the way I do. Id rather stop the process instead of having these kids grow up and continue to repeat the cycle.

nah, they'll probably look like lush.
did this article mention where in chicago this high school is? my immediate reaction would suggest its in a nieghborhood not predominantly white.
if parents would teach their children the importance of safe sex, maybe this problem wouldn't be this bad. the problem is that too many grown people have children for reasons other than they really want to have kids.
or there parents never preached the message so it doesn't get passed down through families.
chances are most of these kids being born will end up with their own problems and continue to pass it down.

Parents AND health educators in school should teach them of the consequences of sex and the ways to prevent pregnancy instead of keeping mute on the subject or teaching "abstinence".

The family structure at home has broken down, so a good many girls figure that if they get pregnant that they'll have someone who will always love them (the baby) and a guy (baby daddy) who will take care of them.
I wouldn't look at how many of the girls are black or white, but start with how many come from single parent homes.
