Calling Fox News "a wing of the Republican Party," the Obama administration on Sunday escalated its war of words against the channel, even as observers questioned the wisdom of a White House war on a news organization.
"What I think is fair to say about Fox -- and certainly it's the way we view it -- is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party," said Anita Dunn, White House communications director, on CNN. "They take their talking points, put them on the air; take their opposition research, put them on the air. And that's fine. But let's not pretend they're a news network the way CNN is."
Ok, she says they show opposing views, but thats not good enough?
Looking past that though, assume they are a repub. branch. Why are they not calling out MSNBC? Politics?:free-happy-smileys-

Yeah, MSNBC (Olberman and Maddow) are a branch of the Democratic Underground, and they are fringe liberal.
Now, Fox being an extension of the Repub party, maybe Hannity is for sure. But O'Reilly tends to move back and forth based on the issue and Beck is simply a Charlatan.

I can't think of anything specific, but the times I've watched his show he seemed to be pretty fair. He's certainly less partisan than Limbaugh/Hannity/Olberman.

He used to slam Bush when Iraq was going bad. O'Reilly gets attacked alot by the left but is much more balanced than the Beck/Hannity madness..

I agree. He has generally been willing to give it to whoever messes up, no matter the party. That said, you can tell he has conservative leanings, but I do not think it has any effect on how he does his show. It is just how he feels, and there is nothing wrong with that. I think he would be the same if he swapped networks.

The White House escalated its offensive against Fox News on Sunday by urging other news organizations to stop "following Fox" and instead join the administration's attempt to marginalize the channel.
White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel told CNN that President Obama does not want "the CNNs and the others in the world [to] basically be led in following Fox."
Obama senior adviser David Axelrod went further by calling on media outlets to join the administration in declaring that Fox is "not a news organization."
"Other news organizations like yours ought not to treat them that way," Axelrod counseled ABC's George Stephanopoulos. "We're not going to treat them that way."
Unreal that they are trying to take things this far because they are getting different sides to stories.

On Sunday, Fox's Chris Wallace retorted: "We wanted to ask Dunn about her criticism, but, as they've done every week since August, the White House refused to make any administration officials available to 'FOX News Sunday' to talk about this or anything else."
The White House stopped providing guests to 'Fox News Sunday' after Wallace fact-checked controversial assertions made by Tammy Duckworth, assistant secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, in August. Dunn said fact-checking an administration official was "something I've never seen a Sunday show do."
"She criticized 'FOX News Sunday' last week for fact-checking -- fact-checking -- an administration official," Wallace said Sunday. "They didn't say that our fact-checking was wrong. They just said that we had dared to fact-check."
God forbid anyone fact check.....

Obama is well on his way to a one term failure. HE should go back and listen to all the promises & platitudes he was espousing.

I like O'Reilly. Hannity can be a bit much for me. Despise Olberwoman and the Maddow.
