Obama said the nation must protect the identity of CIA contractors and employees "as vigilantly as they protect our security."

:thumbup::thumbup:

I agree with this, those agents where told to protect us by all means and they did.

I hope Haller's head doesn't explode!!! :)

Good. Better than the Bush administration, who released a CIA operatives name for political payback.

I agree with this. They were following orders more or less (at the time), and doing their jobs.

Another great move by Obama. They are coming quicker and quicker.

Carl, in your eyes, what has he ever done wrong? Serious question, and possibly meant for another thread.

He should maybe not have appointed Geithner.

I can agree with that. Anything else?
I am not trying to put him down, you just seem so very pro-Obama, and I am curious if you can allow yourself to be objective when it comes to his actions.

he should have allowed cheney, bush, and the rest to possibly be prosecuted.

They were just following orders for the administration. If they want to go after someone for this, which will never happen, they should go after the administration.

And now we disagree, that didn't take long! :)

Read the article, the Justice Department was the ultimate power that told the administration they would be protected. So, how is it on the administration?

I saw that and I saw this...
On the other side, human rights advocates argued that Obama should not have assured the CIA that officers who conducted interrogations would not be prosecuted if they used methods authorized by Bush lawyers in the memos.

Like I said it will never happen.

Legally, the Justice department approved the techniques, so other arguments/opinions can point fingers wherever they want or at whoever they want. The breadcrumbs point to the Justice department being the final authority in the matter.

Prosecute them for what? The enemy in this war chops off people's head and uses much worse forms of torture.

Now, all those that were innocent and this happened to, they should be compensated for the paranoid state of mind America was in at the time.
