Hey, I'm all for transparency, but the first "whereas" got me.

Whereas: Congress, the Federal Reserve, and the U.S. Treasury have put the American taxpayer on the hook for over $12 trillion in bailouts and loans;

Um, $12 trillion is the entire debt. Much of it existing long before those currently in power got there. But the petition makes it sound as if that is all from the bailouts. Let's find out not only where all of that money went, but let's place blame where it belongs.

From the site when you click on "About the Audit":

During the current economic crisis, Congress, the Treasury, and the Fed have put us on the hook for over $12 trillion in bailouts and loans. This is in addition to our almost $12 trillion national debt. When testifying before Congress, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke has refused to disclose which institutions have received trillions of dollars in these bailouts and loans or to give our representatives details about what deals are being made with foreign banks.

Really? Without the bailouts, we could have zero national debt? Come on, someone is messing with the numbers. Bailouts were big, but they were not that big.

Nothing wrong with being a skeptic. But....

Take a look at this page on CNN:

http://money.cnn.com/news/storysupplement/economy/bailouttracker/index.html

Scroll all the way down to the bottom. $11 trillion committed to all bailouts. As of now $2.8 trillion invested. Where did the other $8.2 trillion go? That's the reason for the audit. We know that some of went out the country and the audit will expose exactly where it went.

Lets not forget that future unfunded liabilities are nearing $60 trillion dollars and continue to grow. It makes no difference who initiates the spending. All of it adds up to a major future problem. Hellooooo inflation.
