In the weekend poll, 42% of respondents said the United States made "a mistake" in sending military forces to Afghanistan, up from 30% in February. That's the highest mark since the poll first asked the question in November 2001, a month after the U.S.-led invasion ousted the Taliban government that sheltered al-Qaeda terrorists responsible for the 9/11 terror attacks.

Obviously people are going to turn against the Afghan war when they realize that escalating it means more deaths of US soldiers and a longer commitment...

Personally, I see nothing good coming from this war. At least we secured tons of black gold by staying the course in Iraq. All we will do is completely push the Taliban and what's left of Al Qaeda into Pakistan and then have to decide whether to invade it next...

It is a tough tough war with no infrastructure in Afghanistan. obama made mistake escalating it....he should have learned history's lesson, but, instead spewed naive political blather.
