How to pay for it? More tax on the wealthy and small business. Penalties on companies for not offering coverege, and penalties on people for not having it.
Unreal

The House is also proposing a mandate on Americans above a certain income level: People would be penalized as much as 2.5 percent of their income for failure to buy health insurance. Most employers would be required to insure their employees or pay a penalty equal to as much as 8 percent of their payroll.

I just wonder what the cutoff is for small businesses that do not offer it, because many CAN NOT afford to do this.

Boy....the description of the bill just about says it all, eh?

To provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans and reduce
the growth in health care spending, and for other purposes.Translation: rationing.

Also, everyone needs to remember that the govt created HMOs to ration care, this would be the ultimate...

Page 16 of the bill:

"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day of Y1."

In other words, those who want to keep their coverage can do so, just as promised. Forget about making changes to the policy, or dropping one policy and getting a different private policy, though.

That's just page 16. How many more breaches of liberty will be found in the next 1002 pages?
