I was just reading a thread on satguys, and the OP had an install on the fourth. He had some small problems, and a couple of bigger ones. Basically enought to make him want to cancel.
Anyway, to my question. Some posters said it was his fault since he had the install done on a holiday. Thats what he gets, and its karma. They were saying that the installer should have been with his family, and it was disrepectful for the OP to make the installer work.
Do you agree with that?
I think it is ridiculous. It is a job. Do it correctly.
Thoughts?

I think its a shame that the installer had to work on the 4th. I wish most employers would give their employees a day off on the major holidays. My wife is a nurse, so she obviously has to work some holidays and while her profession requires it (or people would die), it still stinks. I think non-essential employees should be given the day off.
Having said that (and I havn't read the thread to which you're referring), the guy should have done the job correctly.

Yeah, it would be better if he got the day off, but my point there was, he may have gotten another day of in exchange. Or a few days. It is just a day IMO.
But yeah, I agree, it should be done correctly (if that is the actual problem with this install)

The guy should of done the job correctly. I have to work every single holiday except New Years eve. If I wouldn't do my job correctly I would get fired. I can't use the excuse "It was the holiday, we shouldn't work anyway".
When you have to go in on Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter plus the others you are upset, tired and really pissed, but it's the job, get over it.
